LEVEL OF INNOVATION

EXPERIENCES

1st.
Generation

LATE MAJORITY / LAGGARDS

The first generation, being predominantly immigrants, may face barriers such as language, limited access to technology and less familiarity with digital innovations, which could delay their adoption of new technologies. However, this does not mean that they are totally averse to technology, but rather that their adoption may be slower and based on practical need rather than interest in innovation.

They are attracted to events that reflect the traditions and culture of their home countries, as well as activities that promote family and community unity.

  • Cultural and Religious Festivals: Events with celebrations such as Cinco de Mayo, Day of the Dead, or the Celebrations of the “Virgin of Guadalupe” in several cities offer a mix of music, food and cultural activities that resonate with their traditions.
  • Traditional Music Concerts: Artists and bands playing genres such as mariachi, salsa, cumbia, and bachata attract this generation, with events in places like the “Hollywood Bowl” in Los Angeles or the “Madison Square Garden” in New
  • Conferences and Workshops: Educational activities focused on topics such as immigration, health, and education, offered by organizations such as the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO).

CHANCE

CONNECT. Strengthen their connection to their roots in a context of change, acting as a bridge to the culture and traditions they left behind. This project provides them not only with a space to reaffirm their identity, but also with the opportunity to share their rich cultural heritage, promoting understanding and respect within the wider community.

gathering

EXPERIENCES

Members of this generation seek out events that blend their American and Latino cultures, including those that address issues of bicultural identity.

  • Music and Art Festivals: Events such as “Lollapalooza” or “Coachella”, which have included Latin artists in their lineups, or specifically Latin festivals such as “Ruido Fest” in Chicago.
  • Sporting Events: “Major League Soccer (MLS)” matches with teams such as the “LA Galaxy” or the “New York City FC”, that have strong Latino followings, or boxing events with Latino stars.
  • Film and Theater: Latin film festivals such as the “New York Latino Film Festival” or theater productions that explore themes of Latino identity and experience.

CHANCE

RECONNECT. Develop interactive and multimedia experiences that celebrate cultural heritage while integrating into the American context. For the second generation, this project represents a valuable opportunity for reconnection, it is a invitation to rediscover and appreciate the depth of their cultural heritage, offering them a new look at their legacy and reinforcing their connection to the roots that define them.

  • Digital and interactive experiences

2nd.
GENERATION

EARLY / LATE MAJORITY

Second-generation Hispanics are well integrated into American society and have broad access to education and technology. Raised in a cross- cultural context, they show a willingness to embrace emerging technologies, particularly those that enhance communication and allow for greater expression of their bicultural identity. Although they are not early adopters of new technologies, their willingness to embrace innovations is strengthened by their recognition of the practical value and relevance of these technologies in their daily lives.

GENERATION

INNOVATORS / EARLY ADOPTERS

The third generation and beyond are typically fully integrated into American culture and are digital natives, meaning they have grown up surrounded by advanced technology. This naturally puts them in the Innovators or Early Adopters segments, as they are more willing to experiment with new technologies and trends and integrate them into their daily lives from an early stage.

This generation tends to be more assimilated into mainstream American culture, but still shows interest in exploring their cultural heritage.

  • Pop Culture and Technology Events: Conventions such as “Comic-Con” and “SXSW”, where creators and artists participate Latinos.
  • Social and Political Movements: Participation in events related to “Black Lives Matter”, “DACA” and “March for Our Lives”, reflecting a commitment to social and political causes.
  • Digital Platforms and Social Networks: Intensive use of platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube to create and consume content that reflects their bicultural and bilingual interests.

CHANCE

DISCOVER. It is an opportunity to understand your cultural identity within modernity, connecting with an essential aspect of your heritage in a contemporary context. Experiences that offer a personalized connection with your heritage, using innovative media and digital platforms.
